Public spending on agriculture exceeds Br2bn in Belarus in 2021

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – The expenditure of the consolidated budget on the agricultural industry in Belarus exceeded Br2 billion in 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Subbotin said at the meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to discuss the country’s agricultural performance, BelTA has learned.
According to the deputy prime minister, this year the government kept providing subsidized loans for agricultural producers and offered additional loans for the purchase of grain; 50 grain harvesters and 50 forage harvesters were bought using the funds of the central budget. All in all, agricultural companies purchased 460 combine harvesters, more than 650 tractors and 2,500 agricultural machines this year.
“The expenditure of the consolidated budget this year exceeded Br2 billion, up 1.4 times over 2020,” Aleksandr Subbotin said.
