The minister presented a bill “On the suspension of the agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Belarus on the readmission of persons residing without authorization”.
“I want to say that the situation with refugees in the territory of Belarus is under control. There are no problems with them in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. Various Telegram channels post information alleging that groups of militants, so-called illegal migrants and so on, are passing by. I want to tell you, as the minister of internal affairs, that the situation is completely under control by Belarus’ law enforcement,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
According to him, 368 refugees applied for help. “The authorities are helping absolutely all of them. Fifty-six people who could not afford accommodation turned to us. Special refugee centers have been set up in Vitebsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast. These centers offer refugees psychological assistance and meet their basic needs.
