IAEA’s team to visit Belarusian nuclear power plant on 25-29 October

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – A follow-up visit of the pre-OSART (Operational Safety Review Team) expert group of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Belarusian nuclear power plant will take place on 25-29 October, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The experts will come to Belarus as part of the technical cooperation project “Enhancing the Operational Safety of the Nuclear Power Plant during Commissioning and Operation”.
The mission will include experts from Great Britain, France, Belgium, Russia, Armenia, Ukraine. They will assess progress in fulfilling the recommendations and proposals developed in 2019 while studying the operational safety of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
The IAEA’s pre-OSART mission is a mission of the operational safety analysis group. In line with the IAEA regulations the missions are arranged for nuclear power plants under construction before nuclear fuel is loaded.
