EEC: Shipments of Belarusian products to EAEU market on the rise
MOSCOW, 13 October (BelTA) – Belarus has increased shipments of its textiles, footwear, metal and wood products to the EAEU market, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told a briefing on 13 October, BelTA has learned.
According to Iya Malkina, the mutual trade within the EAEU has exceeded the pre-pandemic level. “The volume of mutual trade in goods in the EAEU amounted to $45 billion in January-August 2021, up more than 31% compared with the same stretch a year ago. The level of the same pre-pandemic period of 2019 was up 14.6%,” she stressed.
The growth of mutual trade was registered in all the EAEU states, with the highest figures in Kazakhstan (up 38%) and Russia (up almost 34%). Armenia increased supplies to the EAEU market by almost 31%, Kyrgyzstan – 30% and Belarus – almost 22.5%.
“As for Belarusian goods, the most significant increase in supplies from that country to the EAEU domestic market was registered in metals and metal products (1.4 times), wood, pulp and paper products (28%), textiles, textile products and footwear (almost 27%),” the EEC official representative said.
