Belarusian, Russian twin cities to discuss ways to expand cooperation
MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia will discuss ways to expand cooperation at the 10th meeting of twin cities in Zhodino on 7-8 October, BelTA has learned.
The topic of the forthcoming meeting is “Twinning as an Important Potential for Strengthening the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Unity of Peoples”. Attending the meeting will be heads of city and district administrations, public and youth organizations of the twin cities and partners of the two countries. The meeting will be held in the form of a plenary session, sections as well as events dedicated to the Year of People’s Unity. The program will also include visits to enterprises and organizations in Zhodino.
Among the topics suggested for discussion by the Belarusian public organization Twin Cities are economy and business, encouragement of mutual investments, and expansion of production cooperation. The parties will also discuss cooperation in the social sector, development of infrastructure, cultural, educational cooperation and twinning as a platform to improve work with young people.
Twin cities will present the most interesting and effective joint projects.
The previous meeting of the twin cities of Belarus and Russia took place in Mogilev in March 2017. It was attended by about 150 people.
