Belarus-UN counterterrorism cooperation discussed
MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov on 24 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties focused on the urgent issues of combating terrorism and the ways to deepen cooperation between Belarus and the United Nations on counterterrorism.
As BelTA reported earlier, Vladimir Makei is visiting New York on 21-28 September to participate in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 76).
The program of the visit includes the foreign minister’s participation in the General Debate of the 76th session of UNGA 76 and the UN Food Systems Summit, the ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends in defense of the Charter of the United Nations.
Vladimir Makei is also holding bilateral meetings with his counterparts from different countries on the sidelines of the General Assembly session.
