Belarus clinch fourth gold at Canoe Sprint World Championships in Denmark

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – Volha Klimava of Belarus won gold in C1 Women 5000m at the 2021 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Denmark, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian clocked 26:18.94 to reaffirm the champion title she won in 2019. Zsofia Kisban of Hungary came in second in 26:37.32. Bronze went to Maria Mailliard of Chile (26:39.51).
In C2 Mix 200m Belarus’ Nadzeya Makarchanka and Vitaly Asetski placed sixth with the time of 41.26. Russia won the event in 39.10. Poland (39.82) and Hungary (40.02) finished second and third respectively.
Aliaksei Misiuchenka and Uladzislava Skryhanava came in seventh (34.99) in K2 Mix 200m. The top three were Hungary (33.94), Portugal (34.34), and Poland (34.35).
